Work Smarter Not Harder

In material handling, the speed and accuracy of throughput is critical. As is the old adage—work smarter, not harder. How do you work smarter with your material handling to efficiently and successfully move product? In other words, how do you improve your end of line operations?

Let’s talk palletizing systems.

Automatic palletizing systems offer a way to move, sort, transfer and stack products onto a pallet. This is usually accomplished at the end of the line and ideal for high-volume facilities. The end goal behind palletizing systems is to optimize and improve processes and make for a smoother transition from the ‘movement’ of product to the ‘delivery’ or end of line. And to do so, utilizing robotic systems through integration, to include gantry robots and articulating robotic arms, operations can increase their efficiency and profitability.

Robotic palletizers provide a more stable load and precision in its operation, both in load control, accuracy and speed. They make it easier to transport material handling through consolidation, operating at a consistent speed through its duration. Moreover, product damage can decrease as these palletizing systems allow for more control and fluidity in the movement of product, thereby optimizing the workflow and improving storage capabilities. And it is because they generally operate faster than manual labor, robotic palletizers can have a positive effect on your operation’s wallet.

Additionally, palletizers often increase safety in the work environment and decrease labor costs. They help to reduce and, in some cases, eliminate ergonomic injuries, that which can result in enhanced employee morale. The continuity and repetitious nature of palletizing systems allows for a significant increase in productivity, without wasting valuable time and energy, thereby removing any potential lagging in work amongst employees. Moreover, safety in the workplace is and should always be a top priority in material handling.

Another consideration for palletizing systems, like with many new innovative technologies, is the benefit of saving valuable floor space and utilizing the footprint to its maximum potential. These palletizing systems eliminate the need for conveyor to transport products. Integrating these systems in your material handling facility help solidify operational peak efficiency, while producing faster turnaround times. In doing so, you create a seamless operational footprint that excels in both efficiency and productivity. In essence, it is the work smarter, not harder viewpoint in palletizing systems that will employ a clear strategy to improving your end of line operations.
