It’s a new year! Time for change. Take a closer look at your equipment—are you maximizing efficiency and productivity in your warehouse facility or distribution center?
With increased productivity requirements and labor costs, distribution centers and facilities are tasked with (acquiring and maintaining) material handling equipment that is reliable, accurate and efficient in handling products.
When assessing your current equipment, ask yourself these questions:
- What products are handled? Consider overall volume and the process by which those products or materials are handled
- What are the costs and benefits to making improvements? Compare costs of upgrades and/or modifications vs. the replacement
- What issues, if any, do you currently have? Any/all recommendations, including maintenance, should be considered
Updating or improving your current equipment should meet or exceed the demands of your operation, while providing a cost effective and efficient material handling solution to meet those needs. Be sure that your equipment is up-to-date and make it the least of your worries for smooth sailing in 2016. What are some of your needs for the New Year? Share your comments.
